In teams, individuals share responsibilities among themselves, help each other to accomplish a complicated task. The team members must be comfortable with each other and be a little more flexible and adjusting. making them perform is difficult. Giving them task is easy, but expecting the best from them is tough”

Answer

1) barriers to team building involves, diverse background of the members, personality clashes, difference in perspective, attitude and capabilities. That create trust issues and won't allow the members to integrate their interests. Another reason could be unclear goals, which doesn't build a strong team. Poor communication and lack of discussions among members also make the team weak.

To overcome these barriers, leader/manager needs to define the goals and communicate every aspects with all the members. They members needs to be provided room for discussion and to know the others. They must be provided with training to understand diversity, to respect other members and also to enhance mutual trust. Leader needs to integrate their interests with the goals by identifying motivating factors and set rewards based on team as well as individual performance.

against this context, the leader needs to take following steps:

✓ provide training to all the members, for working together, and to know their duties.

✓ he must set rewards for the teams, based on individual efforts along with over all progress. So that no member ignores his work.

✓ have reachable goals and targets, so that each member can become confident and stay engaged with work and team.

✓ recognise performance, and celebrate achievement with members for building strong cohesiveness.
