b. Mobilizing inspiring people to engage fully in their work and contribute their ideas explains the management function of leading. The leading role previously described how managers motivate workers to come to work by doing their jobs and following the plans of top management. Managers need to be good at mobilizing and inspiring people today and in the future to participate fully in their work and contribute their ideas, to use their knowledge and experience in ways that have never been needed or dreamed of in the past.
