Answer #1

1. The work life balance in an organization refers to the balance that an employee could maintain between his work and his personal life. Through maintaining proper work life balance the employee could live a healthy life as well as could be present in his family whenever he or she is needed. The work flexibility is the flexibility which the organization provides for an employee in his working hours. For example work at home is the work flexibility which makes the employees loyal and satisfied. The organization with good organization culture provides work flexibility and good work life balance (Kossek and Lautsch, 2018).

2. The employer can play an important role in managing the work life balance of the employee. For example the parental leave enables the employees to perform his duties as a parent. The flexible work shifts, combo offs, work at home facilities etc are the provisions provided by the organizations in order to enable the employees to manage their work and life.

This can contribute to the enhancement of the productivity of the organization. When the employers provide sufficient time for the employees to spent with their family, then they will be happy and loyal towards the employers. This can increase their commitment level, motivation, productivity etc. Hence, the organizational goals can be achieved effectively (Fujihara et al, 2018).

3. In the current business organization, it can be seen that almost all organizations provides work flexibilities in their jobs. The primary reason behind this is that, through providing flexible work timings, the employee may not take leaves for their personal reasons. They will schedule their office and personal works accordingly with the flexible work timings. This can increase their level of commitment and performance (Little, 2018).

Two organizations in Saudi Arabia which provides flexible work timings include the following.

  • Panda retail company
  • Saudi International petro chemical company
