Answer #1

2)

HKC8H4O4 + NaOH --->NaKC8H4O4 + H2O

Moles of KHP = mass of KHP / Molar mass of KHP = 0.467/204.22 = 0.002287 moles

From reaction;

Mole ratio of KHP to NaOH = 1 : 1

So, moles of KHP = moles of NaOH = 0.002287 moles

Volume of NaOH in liters (V) = Moles/molarity of NaOH

Let M is the molarity of NaOH. Then,

V = 0.002287/M liters

V in ml = 0.002287*1000/M = 2.287/M ml ....Answer

We just need to molarity (concentration) of NaOH which is not mentioned in question. Let me know if any doubts.

    As part of Lab 11 you will make and standardize a solution of NaOH(aq). Suppose in the lab you measure the solid NaOH and dissolve it into 100.0 mL of water. You then measure 0.1993 g of KHP (204.22 g/mol) and place it in a clean, dry 100-mL beaker, and then dissolve the KHP in about 25 mL of water and add a couple of drops of phenolphthalein indicator.
