Designs For Accommodating Users:
The main goal of designer must be to identify whether the user is expert or beginner, which further helps a designer to design the system as per the requirement.Since it is not possible that all the users of system would be expert,we have different bunch of people.Users can be divided into three categories:
a) Beginning Users:
Every user falls under this category at earliest phase of their life.System should always provide help to new users so as to understand the process, since they have been recently introduced to system and are not familiar with it.Help section must be incorporated so as to solve common user queries and navigating throughout the system should be easy and simple task.
b) Intermediate User
Maximum Number of user falls under this category .These types of user always looks for certain easy ways to access a feature or functionality.Major Questions from intermediate users are:
->I know this feature exist, but how to use it?
->What is difference in these two tools?
A tool tip text can help user to identify functionality of a tool.
c) Expert User
The Number of users that falls under this category are very less than other type of users. They are the most important category of users since their effectiveness is very high and may prove beneficial to an organization. These users keeps searching for customization/Automation.
1.b).Persona representing tasks which are necessary to reach the goal
RESEARCH PHASE:
In this face we would perform surveys and include library patrons or student group who visits regularly, selecting client and taking there feedback is considered to be very essential.Interviews with users are conducted, now these interviews could be of three types:a)Structured Interviews
b)Unstructured Interviews
c)Semi-Structured Interviews.
In our case,we can ask users there perspective on design, features they want to be associated in system, navigation preferences, color and indentation, use of graphics, appropriate readable font size as well as there other expectations from design of the system.
Modelling Phase
The Feedback or suggestions provided by users are taken into consideration and modelling of the system is performed, modelling may include several tasks including designing information flow and work flow, this phase allow designer so as to keep system as well as user perspective in mind and thereby improvise the design of system.
For library information system, here we can design the actual layout of the system, number of pages and how user would be directed to specific part if he select an appropriate action.
Requirement Gathering Phase
This phase is very important. In this phase we try to gather out system requirements and this phase also provide the connectivity between the users, models and products framework.
For library information system,We on the basis of our model can gather information related to identify minimum requirements of underlying platform which would be capable of running the system as an whole and interfacing model which when selected would prove to be the best fit for the application purpose. We Could use framework which may not be dependent on internet connectivity and can help user to search for shelf number in which book is kept, even if user is not connected to internet.(Objective could be achieved by storing application data on local machine)
Refinement Phase
Refinement phase mainly emphasizes on details of the system as a an whole and product implementation. It helps designer to create story board at very deep level (Covering all details).
Prototype of system and system design specification document may provide detail of how system functions,All the relevant information which is required by user to use system(in depth) are provided in this phase. For Library based Information System all details regarding features being provided would be mentioned eg:How to search for a book,How to access List of books, etc.
Support Phase
This Phase try to meet up all the requirements which may arise in future, any bug or defect in the design is to be fixed in this phase. In this phase designer also performs UAT(user acceptance testing) so as to ensure all the design goals have been achieved,
In case of library based information system,if some feature is not working properly it would be improved, system would be designed in an flexible manner so that if details of new books have to be added ,they could be added easily.Similarly all future requirements including additional features to be added must be taken into consideration and constant effort on improving design model would be part of this phase.

Is it possible for anyone to help me with this assignment that I need in like 5 hours? Part I: General HCI Questions 1) The "Start" button in Windows is located by default at the bottom left corner of the screen. How might you make accessing the "Start" button faster? What is the name of the principle you are relying on from the principals identified by Donald Norman and Section 1.6 from the textbook (visibility, feedback, constraints, consistency, affordance). Project Description In this project, you will design and implement a database for keeping track of information for an online “SOCIAL NETWORK” system (e.g. a simplified version of Facebook!). You will first design an EER schema diagram for this database application. Then, you will map the EER schema into a relational database schema and implement it on ORACLE or MySQL or some other relational DBMS. Finally, you will load some data into your database (via user Interface) and create some...
How can we assess whether a project is a success or a failure? This case presents two phases of a large business transformation project involving the implementation of an ERP system with the aim of creating an integrated company. The case illustrates some of the challenges associated with integration. It also presents the obstacles facing companies that undertake projects involving large information technology projects. Bombardier and Its Environment Joseph-Armand Bombardier was 15 years old when he built his first snowmobile...
