1) Employment-at-will is basically made for employees as well as employers. It says employees has the right to leave their job whenever they want to and that too by giving any reason. On the other hand, employers has the right to terminate an employee for any reason and without giving any notice. The doctrine mainly aims to prevent any kind of wrongful termination of the employees. If the termination of employees is illegal then the employer may face some problem. So, it is important to keep in mind that the reason for termination must not related to discrimination of employees. Although the doctrine describes the termination from both employees and employer's side, but still it is slightly inclined towards the employees as they get more benefits. Hence, due to this reason the employment-at-will doctrine is considered asymmetric.
