Y _i : High school GPA scores of the ith graduating senior in the sociology class of Prof. Brown.

Let , d = X - Y

Again , let , \mu_d represents the population mean of the difference between the GPA score of graduating seniors in the sociology class of Prof. Brown and their GPA scores when they were in High school

The research hypothesis is : \mu_d\neq 0

2 ) To be able to use z for testing the differences between two statistics , both of the two samples must be greater than or equal to 30 in size .

3 ) i ) 1-sided+\alpha-0.05+2\ df-2.920

ii ) 1-sided+\alpha-0.05+4\ df-2.132

iii ) 2-sided+\alpha-0.01+8\ df-3.355

4 )  \bar{d}=\left |\frac{50000-60000}{5} \right |=2000
