I am trying to gain more familiarity with SPSS. What test would I run to see the relationship between age and exercise time?

First do a scatterplot and try to see if you can estimate any functional type of the relationship between age and exercise time. If you are convinced that a linear relationship may exist then go for correlation and then regression. You can also look for transformation if required.
