Answer #1

F is a direct access file with n=2000 records, records can be read in hashing 400 buckets with average case, an hashing function converts large to small , occurs when two keys hash to the same address. for an open hash scheme the record with in each bucket are stored in key order , a hashing function should distribute the records among the buckets.

Please select file(s) Select file(s) Q9 Double 15 Points Consider inserting the keys 10, 22, 31, 4, 15, 28, 17, 88, 59 into a hash table of length m 11 using open addressing with the auxiliary hash function l'(k) = k. Illustrate the result of inserting these keys using linear probing, using quadratic probing with c1 3, and using double hashing with h1(k) = k and h2(k) = 1 + (k mod (m – 1)). [C++] Outline: The movie data is read from a file into an array of structs and is sorted using the Selection Sort method and the search is done using the Binary Search algorithm with the year of release as key. This assignment upgrades to an array of pointers to the database elements and converts the Selection Sort and Binary search procedure on the database to selection sort and binary search on the array of pointers to the database.   Requirements: Your...
