7.a) Red eye colour is dominant and orange eye color is recessive. Explanation- From cross 4, it can be observed that the result resembles the dihybrid cross ratio i.e. 9 (red crossveins) : 3 (red crossveinless) : 3 (orange crossveins) : 1 (orange crossveinless).

b) Crossvein wing type is dominant and crossveinless wing type is recessive. Explanation- From cross 4, it can be observed that the result resembles the dihybrid cross ratio i.e. 9 ( red crossveins) : 3 ( red crossveinless) : 3 ( orange crossveins) : 1 (orange crossveinless).

c) If we denote red allele as 'R', orange allele as 'r' and crossvein allele as 'C', crossveinless allele as 'c', then the parental genotypes are as follows.:

Cross 1- rrCc, rrCc

Cross 2- RrCc, Rrcc

Cross 3- RRcc, RRCc

Cross 4- RrCc, RrCc

Questions 64-65 refer to the following. In a plant, axial flower (T) is dominant to terminal flower (t) and red fruit color (Y) is dominant to yellow (y). These effects are caused by two independently assorting autosomal genes. An individual terminal red plant was crossed with an individual axial, yellow plant to produce offspring which were 1/2 axial, red: 1/2 terminal, red. The genotype of the crossed terminal red plant was: ttyy ttYy ttYY TTyy Ttyy In the cross described...

CONTENT QUESTIONS (answer these for credit) 1. In an experiment to trace the inheritance of two traits in pea plants, a researcher decided to look at height, which is controlled by two alleles. The dominant allele T produces a tall plant while the recessive allele t produces a short plant. Flower color is controlled by one gene with two alleles as well. The dominant allele P produces purple flowers, and the recessive p produces white flowers. If the female parent...
