Question
Darth Maul is doing some mechanical work on a new engine for his landspeeder. Engine oil (assume he is using SAE 10 ... see table below) passes through a 1.30 mm diameter tube in his newly created engine. The tube is 5.4 cm long. What pressure difference is needed to maintain a flow rate of 5.2 mL/min? (Note: 1 mL = 1 cm3)

Answer #1

we know

Poiseuille's Equation

where \Delta x=length

rest all symbol we know

so we get

Q=5.2mL/min=8.667*10^(-8)

r=0.65mm =0.65*10^(-3) m

viscosity=200*10^(-3)

so we got p=13352.5 pa

    Ignore question [1], just need the problem description from it. [1] Water flowing in a pipe is determined to be moving at the velocities given in the diagram below. The higher level is 3 meters above the lower one and the pressure in the lower portion is measured to be 200 kPa. Determine the pressure inside the upper pipe Treat the water as an ideal fluid obeying Bernoulli's equation. Consider the path connecting poin in the lower pipe with point...

    Lab 8: Exercises EXERCISE 8.1 GM is a 20 y/o male who was admitted to the ICU for severe closed head injury and multiple fractures resulting from a fighting engagement at the bar on his birthday. According to his friends, his Ht is 178 cm. His measured Wt at admission is 76 kg. His lab values were normal except for low Hgb and Hct due to bleeding (which was well controlled). He was unconscious, thus was tube fed for one...
