Ans 2 : a) Conversion of the linear form to the cyclic form results from a reaction between the carbonyl C and an alcohol in the same molecule.

The glucose exists in its cyclic form usually in pyranose state. The open chain form is present in very little amounts. The molecule can form both 5 membered and 6 membered rings.
