Answer #1

The use of data, idea or information in any form that belongs to someone else or is a result of other sources without properly acknowledging the source of the data is referred to as plagiarism.

When someone uses their own content from the past into a new data form and new project without properly citing about the extraction is called as self-plagiarism.

The best method to avoid plagiarism and self plagiarism is -

  1. Avoid using such information, data or ideas and rely on self every time. Avoid using past self data.
  2. In unavoidable situations, proper consent from the owner of the substance should be taken in case the data is not one’s own.
  3. Proper citation of resources with clear reference should be provided while using the data.
