Identify at least two ethical challenges you may face and describe how you will address them in your research design.
Research: Exploring PTSD patients, with a focus on those serving in the military to see if they are at a higher risk of engaging in violence and aggression (which can potentially lead to criminal offence) due to their state of mental-health and if it leads to social isolation (i.e. withdrawl). The people needed will be PTSD patients and then more specific groups of PTSD patients which are former miltitary patients, violent (caused by condition) patients and homeless patients. How exactly can these specific groups of people be obtained for case studies
One of the most important ethical challenges would be to get informed consent for voluntary participation as they wouldn’t like to reveal their issues with the researchers. This adamant nature of the military people would make it difficult for people to collect data. Secondly, convincing them that their data would be maintained secretly would be a major challenge too. They would be suspicious of the researcher if they are not able to build a rapport with them and make them understand that their identity and data would be protected.
