Answering the biology section-

3b) Yes, the patient's measured blood pressure than the actual value. This is because of the fact that during arteriosclerosis i.e. hardening of arteries, the diastolic pressure remains normal, but the systolic pressure increases. This is called isolated systolic hypertension. Here, the systolic pressure increases to 140mm Hg or higher. Hence, the pressure appears to be larger than the actual value.
