Ad Critique:  Students must complete a critique of an advertisement:

• Select advertisement (print, online, tv, radio, etc.) You must be able to get a copy to the instructor or provide an on-line link.

• Write a description of the ad and an explanation of what the company was attempting to do with the ad.

• Identify the company, brand, product, or service being advertised.

• Describe how the ad was delivered (media vehicle: TV ad- CNN newscast).

• Identify the target audience.

• List the ad agency that produced the ad.

• Give your view of the ad: Did it miss its mark? How could it be improved? Was the media vehicle effective?

  1. the link for my chosen advertisement is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVlSuj38ZB0. it is an ad for mountain dew which says, "dar ke aage jeet hai" means beyond fear lies victory.
  2. the company with this ad is trying to inspire the people that never fear to do anything because there is always a first time for everything & beyond fear you would be get victory.this ads inspire the people to explore thier courage which is already there but need push to get it out & conquer the fear.
  3. the advertisement was delivered on TV commercials, social media like youtube, facebook, instagram,twitter even many movies in bollywood added the punch line of this commercial.
  4. the target audience for this ads are young students, fitness & athletes, & people who likes adventures.
  5. Ogilvy Advertising company produced this ad.

according to me, ad did not miss the mark because this ad with same puch line has been in the mind of the customers who had seen this ad from childeren to old. ad may be get old but its message would remain in the mind of its audience. yes meida vehicle was effective beacause it covers all like offline as well online medium to deliver the message.
