Mass = volume * density = V * D

for water density =D = 1000 kg/m3 = 10-3 kg/cm3

rate of flow of mass R = V* D/t -------1

we can write volume as

V = area of cross section of pipe * length of pipe = A * L -----------2

here

A = \pir2 = 3.14 * 3.3 *3.3/4 = 8.55 cm2 =

so using 1 and 2 we have

R = ALD/t

however

L/t = speed of water = 1.5 m/s = 150 cm/s

so

putting values in R

R = 8.55 * 10-3 * 150 = 1.28 kg/s
