However at that time, the only available raw materials in the market are low carbon steel wire and high carbon steel wire. Which raw materials will you choose to manufacture the products? High carbon steel

Any heat treatment process follows three steps :1) Heating   

2) quenching

3)Cooling

Hardening of steel takes place during quenching because of locking up of carbon atoms with iron during martensite formation. As low carbon steel has less carbon percentage there are only fewer carbon atoms ti lock up with iron atoms. So hardening of low carbon steel is less when compared to High carbon steel as High carbon steel has more number of carbon atoms to combine with. So our choice shoils be high carbon steel.
