Answer #1

ans 1. NSAID is the acronym for non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs. These drugs are valuable in medicine as they provide relief against pain and fever (analgesic and antipyretic effect) as well as they have anti-inflammatory properties when administered at a higher dose than usual.

ans 2. Aspirin is unique because of its ability to control heart attacks. It can do so by preventing blood clot formation and thus preventing heart attacks.

ans 3. Prostaglandins produce an inflammatory effect in the body in response to any injury or infection in the body.,The cyclooxygenase enzyme is responsible for the production of prostaglandins and is secreted when there is any injury or infection detected in the body.

ans 4. The NSAID's help in blocking pain because they are able to inhibit the enzymes cyclooxygenase 1 and 2 therefore no prostaglandins are produced and no inflammatory response is then produced in the body.
