Answer #1

Let X denotes the weight of a randomly selected adult green sea urchins.

X ~ Normal(52, 17.22)

a) The percentage of adult green sea urchins with weights between 50 g and 60 g

= 100* P(50 < X < 60)

= 100* [P(X < 60) - P(X < 50)

= 100 + 10.679076 -0.453716)

= 22.536%

b) The percentage of adult green sea urchins with weights above 40 g

= 100* P(X > 40)

= 100* [1 - P(X < 40)

= 100 +11-0.24269)

= 75.731%

c) 90th percentile for the weights = 74.0427
