TCO D) Develop a complete plan for effectively conducting a job analysis (JA). Justify each step in terms of its value in performing the JA. As you explain the value of each step, illustrate that point with a brief example.

The following are the steps in conducting a job analysis :

a. Indentify the job and the methods to be used: The first step is to identify what kind of job will be analysed and what will be the approriate method to perform the job analysis.

b.Review background information : In this step the background of the organisation, its current status,financial stability etc are reviewed. Reviewing these aspects helps in assessing the implementation of the job.

c. Conducting job analysis : After identifying the methods and reviewing the background the next step is to conduct the job analysis. In this step the various information on the different aspects of the job are collected These informations can be related to the tasks, roles resposibilities etc . Various methods such as questionnaire, interview, observations can be followed in order to collect information. For example for a project manager job informations related to the location, tasks duration of the project can be collected.

d.Developing job description and job specifications : After collecting the job related information the next step is to develop a job description and job specification based on the information collected. Job description is the written statement of the tasks, roles responsibilities associated with a particular job. Whereas job specification refers to the minimum requirements to perform the job.It identifies the skills, knowledge levels and experiences to do the job.

e. Maintaining and updating job descroption and job specification: This is the final step of job analays.Here job description and specification are maintained and updated according to the changes required.
