An AC voltage source has a maximum voltage ?Vmax = 10M + 80 V connected to a resistor R = 10J – G ?. Find the rms voltage ?Vrms and the rms current Irms in the resistor.

We know that

Vmax = Vrms*(sqrt 2)

So,

Vrms = Vmax/sqrt 2

Given that Vmax = (10M + 80) V

Vrms = (10M + 80)/(sqrt 2) = 0.707*(10 M + 80)

Vrms = (7.07*M + 56.56)

Now

Irms = Vrms/R

R = (10J - G) ohm

So,

Irms = [(7.07*M + 56.56)/(10J - G)] Amp
