- B carotene is hydrocarbon which makes it less polar than others, so it will elue first.
- Pheophytin will follow carotene as it is also not very polar.
- Cholophyll although have similar structure like pheophytin but it has Mg2+ ion which makes it more polar. So it will elute at 3rd place.
- Xanthophyll will elute last because it has two hydroxyl group which makes it more polar compound than others present in spinach.
