Solution:

Using the relation of electric field from a charged wire,

E = 2k\lambda/r Where \lambda = q/L

Here k = 8.99*109, r = 0.048 m , L = 0.01 m and E = 1700 N/C

Substitute the values to find q,

1700 = 2*8.99*109 *q/0.048*0.01

q = 4.54*10-11 C = 0.0454 nC
