Answer #1

Question: 24

Mass of CO2 = 16 g

Molecular mass of CO2 = 44 gm/mol

Moles of CO2 = mass / Molecular Mass = 16 / 44 = 0.3636 moles

C2H4 + 3O2 ==> 2CO2 + 2H2O

Strochiometrically ,

2 moles of CO2 produced from 1 moles of C2H4

0.3636 moles CO2 produced from 0.1818 moles of C2H4

Molecular mass of C2H4 = 28 g/mol

So mass of 0.18 moles = 0.18*28 = 5.09 g

So ,Option 'A' = 5.09 g is correct

Question: 25

Mass of C6H14 = 6.21gm

Molecular mass of C6H14 = 86 gm/mol

Moles of C6H14 = mass / Molecular Mass = 6.21 / 86 = 0.0722 moles

2C6H14 + 19O2 ==> 12CO2 + 14H2O

2 moles of C6H14 form 14 moles of H2O

1 moles of C6H14 form 7 moles of H2O

0.0722 moles of C6H14 form 0.5054 moles of H2O

Molecular mass of H2O = 16 g/mol

So mass of the water form = 0.5054*18 = 9.0972 nearly equal to 9.10 g

So ,Option 'B' = 9.10 g is correct

Thank you

Please cooment if any doubt
