A single bacteriophage upon successfull lytic cycle release 500 viable virus. In each cycle 500 phage infect 500 host and Each host in turn releases 500 phage. Therefore one lytic cycle produces 500 progeny phages; 4 more lytic cycles would produce

or 31.3 X 1012 (Converting the answer into three significant digits)
