Given statement is: suppose 75% of accident occur within 8 miles of work. Therefore it safer not to drive within 8miles of work.

By analyzing the statement we can see that chances of accident is very high if we drive within 8 miles of work that is there occurs 3 accident in every 4 cases (as probability of accident is 75%=3/4). And so we are advised that it will be safe if we don't drive within 8miles of work. So the given statement is valid because most accident occur within 8 miles of work.
