Answer #1

Solution:

Question 19)

Given, X follows Normal distribution with,

  \mu = 1

\sigma = 0.10

Now ,

P[at most 1.1]

= P[X \leq 1.1]

= P[(X - \mu )/\sigma\leq  (1.1 - \mu )/\sigma]

= P[Z \leq  (1.1 - 1)/0.10]

= P[Z \leq 1.00]

= 0.8413 ... ( use z table)

Answer is

0.8413

Question 20.

Correct option is

C. The standard deviation of the sampling distribution of the statistic.

Question 21.

Given ,

p = 20% = 0.20(population proportion)

n = 500 (sample size)

Let \hat p be the sample proportion.

\therefore The sampling distribution of \hat p is approximately normal with

mean = \mu_{\hat p} =  p = 0.20

SD = \sigma_{\hat p}   =   p(1 - p)/n =  (0.2011-0.200/500 = 0.0179

Answer is

A. 0.0179
