In the light of what you have learned in this chapter, which among the aforementioned groups of people do you think may be doing “scientific” investigations in the areas of basic or applied research? Among the aforementioned groups of people which may conduct "scientific" investigations in basic and or applied research includes research organizations, college and university professors, doctoral students, research departments in industries and graduate assistants working for the faculty.

Explanation:

This is because the above mentioned groups requires to use a scientific method to find an answer. The method includes using measurable observations to formulate, modify or test on hypothesis. Using scientific investigation in areas of basic or applied research helps these group of people to develop a better model and better explanation.

Research organizations and research departments needs to use the scientific research so as to provide practical problem solving techniques.

College and university professors and graduate assistance working in the faculty on the other hand may use the scientific investigations in their research so as to come up with an objective research which doesn't include personal influence.

Doctoral students needs the scientific investigations to prove their research or modify a hypothesis.

The other groups of people may not need scientific investigations in their research because the world around does not expect more systematic approach in answering their questions.
