Answer #1

Solution: balanced reaction for sulphuric acid and sodium hydroxide is

H 2SO4 + 2 NaOH ----->>> Na 2SO4 + 2H 2O

1 mol of sulfuric acid is required to neutralise 2 mol of NaOH

Number of moles = Volume of Solution × concentration

Number of moles of sulfuric acid = 0.5 M × 45.7 ml = 22.85 m mol

Number of moles of NaOH = 2 × 22.85 m mol = 45.7 m mol

Concentration of NaOH = mole of NaOH ÷ volume of NaOH = 45.7 m mol ÷ 20 mL = 2.28 M

Concentration of NaOH found is 2.28 M

Option (B) is correct 2.28 M
