ax+by=h

cx+dy=k where a,b,c,d,h and k are constants. Then the augmented matrix corresponding to this system is given by, \begin{bmatrix} a &b \mid h\\ c& d\mid k \\ \end{bmatrix} .

In the given problem the augmented matrix is given by \begin{bmatrix} 1 &0 \mid 6\\ 0& 1\mid 4 \\ \end{bmatrix} . Let x and y be the varibles hence the system of equations are,

1\times x +0\times y=6\Rightarrow x=6

0\times x +1\times y=4 \Rightarrow y=4

Hence the equations are, x=6 \,$and$ \,y=4.
