Answer #1

Standard Equation of line

y= mx + c

here c is the intercept and m is the slope.

Slope will be the coefficient (numerical value) in front of x.

Intercept is present on the y axis so the points will have the form (0, c)

Now we will compare the given equations with this one.

y = - 9

Rewriting the above equation

y = 0x - 9

In this there is no x, that means m = 0 hence the slope is 0

And the constant term is -9 so the intercept is (0,-9)

y = 8 + 7x

Rewriting the above equation

y = +7x + 8

In this the coefficient of x is +7 , that means m = +7 hence the slope is +7

And the constant term is 8 so the intercept is (0,+8)

y = - 9x - 11

This is already in the standard form

In this the coefficient of x is - 9 , that means m = - 9 hence the slope is -9

And the constant term is -11 so the intercept is (0,-11)
