Answer #1

FTIR:

3400 cm-1 , alcoholic -OH group

2800-3000 cm-1, sp3 C-H stretch

1350-1450 cm-1, sp3 C-H bend

1050 cm-1, acyl C-O

1H NMR:

4 peaks are found from 1H NMR spectra which indicates there are 4 different types of proton present. The proton showing chemical shift at 4.1 ppm (1H) indicates alcoholic proton. Its multiplicity is singlet. The peak at 3.6 ppm (2H) indicates the CH2 protons adjucent to alcoholic OH group i.e. its multiplicity is triplet. Peak at 0.9 ppm (3H) indicates a CH3 group and peak at 1.3 ppm (2H) indicates a CH2 group. Peak at 0.9 ppm should have a triplet multiplicity and peak at 1.3 ppm should have a sextet multiplicity. The predicted structure is:

1.3 4.1 ОН 3.6 0.9 propan-1-ol
