Ans) Iron is important cofactor for both bacterial and human chemical reactions.

Explainations: Siderophores are  special chelating agent that are  released by bacteria and they have high affinity for iron so they compete with host cell for iron and provide iron to bacterial cell and helps in its pathogenecity as iron function as important cofactor in various chemical reactions in both bacteria and human but  it make iron available to bacteria and depried human host cell from iron .
