General electric uses the M-form of multidivisional structure.

Some of the characteristics of the General electric which makes the use of M-form legitimate:

  • Each of General electric's business operating separately, distinctively and self contained including bureaucratic hierarchy in place.
  • Enforcing strategic and financial controls in all of its units to maximize the profits.
