Answer #1

According to Aristotle, an unexamined life is not worth living. This would mean that he suggests that in order to flourish or attain eudaimonia would require on to lead a virtuous life happily. Virtue ethics suggests that good people would always engage in virtuous acts throughout their life and not just on some instances. Thus, if one is selfish and worried about one’s own life as Mary lives without contemplating the meaning and worth of the life she lives, it wouldn’t be considered that she is flourishing. People who examine their lives or reflect their actions would keep improving in them and would become better people buy engaging in virtuous acts.
