Path goal leadership model can be seen as the theory related to the leadership that indicates that the style of behavior of the leaders that suits to the employee and the prevailing working environment so that the leader can help the employees to attain the organizational goals. This can be seen as the activity in which the leaders choose the certain conduct that is matching with the needs and requirements of the employees and the prevailing working situation so that the leader is in the best position to help the employees through the path to fulfilling their daily objectives
Four leadership behaviors=
1. The directive path-goal clarifying leader behavior =This is the behavior of the leader in which he explains the expectation from them and also explain the employees how to perform the various tasks.
2. The achievement-oriented leader behavior= These are the leaders in which challenging goals are established by the leaders for the employees and the employees are expected to perform at the highest level
3. The participative leader behavior= In this the leader takes the suggestion and inputs from the employees and then takes a decision.
Example- ABD is the organization in which the employees are not motivated as their concerns are not addressed and they are assigned the goals without taking their opinion, The Manager looks into the situation and applies the supportive leader behavior in which he calls the meeting with the employees and discuss the problems faced by each employee and also fixes the target for every employee after discussing it with each employee. This really change the conduct of the employees as they are not satisfied with the given goals and as the goals are determined after their discussion thus they have greater accountability and motivation for the fulfillment of the goals,
