4. Explain what leadership styles are most effective for implementing organizational change:-
Every organization experiences change, regardless of its size, geography or industry. In fact, change is an evitable--and desirable--aspect of business life. Business leaders who can effectively respond to business change, that comes from both internal and external sources, have leadership styles that are adaptable. They are willing to try new things and are open to the potential for risk.
Comfortable With Ambiguity
Leaders who can successfully lead in times of change are those who are comfortable with ambiguity--the unknown. The only certainty about change is that it is uncertain. Leaders who prefer to work in environments where the status quo prevails, and they know exactly what to expect from one day to the next, will struggle during times of change as they attempt, generally unsuccessfully, to control their environments. On the contrary, leaders who can remain flexible and open to new inputs while attempting to navigate in unfamiliar territory will be better able to move ahead.
Creative
Creativity is the ability to pull information from a wide range of sources and apply that information in new and innovative ways to create value or solve problems. Creative leaders can effectively manage during times of change because they are open to inputs from internal and external sources and are able to use those inputs to help chart a new course for themselves, their employees and their organizations.
Open Communicators
It is critical for leaders to be strong communicators at all times, but especially during times of change, says Lin Grensing-Pophal, a communication consultant and the author of "Human Resource Essentials." During times of change employees are faced with uncertainty, and, in the absence of official information, will fill in the blanks themselves. Leaders that keep employees informed and allow employees an open environment in which to express questions and concerns, will be most effective in managing during times of change.
