In each of the following situations, data are obtained by conducting a statistical study. Classify each statistical study as experimental or correlational.

A large car dealership is considering changing the incentive structure for its sales force. Two incentive systems are under consideration, Plan A and Plan B. Members of the sales force are randomly assigned to one of two groups. Employees in the first group spend the next 6 months being compensated for their car sales based on Plan A; employees in the second group are compensated based on Plan B. Data are collected on the number of cars sold by each salesperson. Experimental   
For a sample of U.S. households, data are collected on the number of televisions in the household.   
For a sample of college students using the ATM in the campus center, data are collected on the dollar amount withdrawn.

Answer #1

Both should be correlational study. No change is being introduced in either of the studies. Corrleational study is a comparision of two or more variables. Here it could be the study of relation between households and televisions they own and in second case the relation between college students and cash they withdraw.
