Similarly, the mean ± 1 sd of calcium intake (mg) among a separate group of 40 females, 12 to 14 years of age, above the poverty level is 6.80 ± 0.76. What is the appropriate procedure to test for a significant difference in means between these two groups? Independant 2 sample t test ---- Implement the procedure identified in the previous question with α=0.05. Should we reject the null hypothesis? ---- Compute a 95% confidence interval for the difference in means between the two groups. Use the t-value for the closest smaller df to the calculated df.
