hello. ive been confused on this question and its a toss up between A & D. pls help, ty.

Which of the following options does NOT represent a common strategy by which signal can be turned off or inhibited at an actuvates (ligand-bound) signal receptor at the plasma membrane?
A. Ligand can dissociate from receptor, returning receptor to its inactive conformation.
B. Ligand bound receptor can be post-translationally modified to reduce its activity, for example by covalently attaching Ub or phosphate to the receptor cytosilic domain
C. Ligand bound receptor can be packaged into secretiry vesicles that send the receptor away from the cell.

Answer #1

Answer - D. Ligand bound receptors can be transported via endocytosis to lysosomes for destruction

The lysosome is essentially involved in digesting the material present in the endosome. The receptor then recycled and sent back to the cell surface.

A. Ligand dissociates then returning the receptor to its initial unactivated state.

B. Ligand - receptor complex is deactivated by the phosphorylation of serine and threonine residues in the carboxyl-terminal tail.
