Town of residence:-

It's an address which is qualitative variable.

So, it is a qualitative variable.

Commuting time to school:-

It is fixed time.So, it is quantitative variable .Since time is always continous.So, it is continous quantitative variable.

Types of sample--

I)You sample among among men and then women:-

Since it involves split of population inti two groups based ob sex.So, it is stratified sample (Here, groups are not divided into sub groups .So, don't mistake it as cluster sample).

II)You put names in a hat and pull out 10 names:-

Since each hat have equal chances to be drawn.

So, it is a random sample.

Hence, it us an random sample.

III)You stand at the entrance to NCC and ask the first 10 people who arrive:-

Since it is based on convenience (those who are arrive first are given chance).So, it convenience sample.
