a) 2nd law efficiency is defined as the it is a measure of how much the theoretical maximum carnot you achieve, in simple word it is the comparison between system thermal efficiency to maximum possible efficiency.it is the ratio of output energy if system to input energy.

2nd law efficiency is always will be in between of carnot and 1st law of efficiency.

1st law is purely related with the specific technology applied.and 2nd law is employed with actual technology and technology that theoretical be best for particular task.
