All neurospora alleles are expressed phenotypically.

Neurospora species are all haploids, spending most of their life cycles in the haploid state. Haploids are able to express both recessive and dominant alleles/ mutations because there is only one allele for each gene in the individual. Hybrid is an organism containing two different alleles or individual containing both dominant and recessive genes of an allelic pair.

There for whatever mutation is given, neurospora express the allele which makes it easier to study single gene functions.
