1.In the respiratory system the elastin protein plays an important role to allow for recoil of the lung to normal position.

Elastin is an insoluble hydrophobic heat stable and cross linked protein fiber that act as a highly elastic manner in the presence of water.so ,in respiratory system the elastic protein helps in recoil of the lungs to normal position.
