Answer #1

Ans(7) : Vedernikov number is a number that is being used to determine the stability of the flow. Flow stability may be of three types which are stable, unstable and neutrally stable flow and for the classification of these flows we have vedernikov number.

Ans(8) : As the vedernikov number is being mentioned above and if that number is less than zero for any flow then it would be known as neutrally stable flow. The pressure drop is found to be least in these kind of curves.

Ans(9) : The range for the both type of flows in term of the beta and discharge are :

  • Open Channel : 0.002–3.313
  • Free Surface : 0.045-2.235
