Answer #1

The probability that a random sample of 8 voters include at least 2 republicans is given by

P(X \geq 2)

= 1 - P(X < 2)

= 1 - [P(X = 0) + P(X = 1)]

\bg_white = 1 - [\binom{8}{0}0.40^0(1- 0.40)^{8-0} + P(\binom{8}{1}0.40^1(1-0.40)^{8-1}]

\bg_white = 1 - 0.1064

\bg_white = 0.8936
