In the background, as a consultant for ICC banks, the role is to change the grooming standards of the company and create a project of change based on the new workforce generation ‘The Millennials’. Even though the new CEO of the bank not favor the uniforms and support the flexible in looking at the fashionable and trendy grooming culture in the company. As a consultant to the company, the role is to draft the new grooming standards for the employees.

Background

When considering the Millennials, they have had a profound influence on the new ways work is done, engaged, productive and business is conducted all over the world, from shorter work hours, flexible job timing, no uniform cultures, and less unpaid overtime to company perks like in-office snack bars, free gym memberships, disk jocking nights access pass, and even set up the nap pods to help boost productivity during the daytime work hours. A new culture is created and drafted for achieving better productivity and efficiency in the work.

Like collaboration and curiosity in the workplace, the Millennials focus on the changing grooming standards in the new world start-up culture and the big multinational organizations are completely adapting the same kind of culture or part of it in the organization. The reason for the increasing casual dressing in the organization is important and the Millennials demand it through.

Grooming Standards

The casual and flexible dress codes attract new talents to the company, especially for creating borderless thoughts and using the best out of the Millennials. By considering the work in coffee-shops, work from home, and other co-working spaces, the casual grooming styles adapted to the organizations also.

As per the new policy, the employees are not mandatory to wear formals or uniforms every weekday, and the draft clearly specifies the new grooming policy of wearing the smart casuals on the weekdays. The policy supports the smart casual and it is the combination of casual, business casual, and formal dress codes. Formal and casual dress styles can be mixed and matched to combine into a "smart" dress code. This new grooming standard is considered as neat, conventional, smart, and professional yet relatively more on the informal side of dress codes.

The formal dress codes are only mandatory for the client meeting, or for any external stakeholders meeting. No mandate for wearing the formals or uniforms to any internal meetings. The new policy encourages the millennial to wear casual attire and create an informal mode of communication and productivity in the workplace. The draft always supports the new dress policies are being held accountable by the complete desire and possibility of the Millennials working for themselves where they could dress as they wish and the policy always support the same.

The new policy of the company support the visibility and awareness. The organization is active in social media handles like Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook, etc. to provide outsiders an inside look into the culture, trends, and dress codes of other companies around the world. This approach increases the exposure has instilled new expectations for the emerging generations, Millennials of the dress codes could and should be interested.

The policy always embedded in the four principles in the grooming standards, and it must bring a new change and attraction to the Millennials. It’s important to educate and publish the right guidelines, make the entire policy as simple and smart, consider the geography of the region and make the employees about the updated dress policy, and create the bridge between the trend and productivity in the organization.
