Given that plane takes off from the origin.

And at later time, position of plane is

r = (1.61*10^6 i + 3.00*10^3 j) m

And velocity of plane at that time is

v = (150 i + 21 j)

Now since plane takes off from origin, So forward horizontal direction of plane will be +ve x-axis and vertical upward direction will be +ve y-axis. Now

Option 1 is wrong.

Reason: If plane was touching down than it will land on the x-axis, So vertical position of particle should be almost zero, when plane is touching down. But at given time it's position is 3.00*10^3 m, which is not zero.

Option 2 is Wrong.

Reason: If plane is in level flight with air, than at that time vertical velocity of planet should be zero, but at given time vertical velocity is +21 m/s.

Option 4 is wrong.

Reason: If plane was descending then it's vertical velocity component should be negative, as it's coming downward, but again at given time vertical velocity is +21 m/s.

Option 5 is wrong.

Reason: If plane was taking off than it will take off from the x-axis, So vertical position of particle should be almost zero, when plane is taking off. But at given time it's position is 3.00*10^3 m, which is not zero.

So option 3 is Right.

Reason: Since plane has both +ve x and +ve y velocity, So it's ascending.
