Answer 3. In the first sample (126), the failure is due to the rust/corrosion present on its surface. Therefore the failure is corrosion. This occurs when the metal comes in contact with moisture and oxygen. A few cracks are also visible on the surface which confirms that this is due to corrosion.

In the second sample (220), the failure is brittle failure. Because a little shiny surface is visible at the position of crack. Also it is a rough surface as is in case of brittle surface. Hence this failure is brittle failure.
